About the gear
The primary sequencing engine used is CakeWalk Professional and the
vocal recording
was laid on the Alesis ADAT digital recorder. The vocals were enhanced
by the use of
various signal processors, compressors, and the Digitech MidiVocalist.
Some of the
vocals were also processed by way of the Ensoniq Sampler keyboard.
The music instruments came from the Alesis QuadraSynth 64-voice
keyboard and drum
sounds came from the Alesis SR-16 drum machine.
I also maintain a few more keyboards such as Roland Juno 1 which
is an analog/digital hybrid...excellent for FAT bass lines. A Roland D-10
for the 'warm' string patches.
A 16 channel Mackie mixing board...A Panasonic DAT mastering deck...A
Sony MiniDisc recorder and it's bundled cousin MD WalkMan
My 'live' performances of my 'weekend warriors' group Meskla,
and employ external sequencers like the MC-500 and MC-50 respectively.
I program all Midi 'cover' songs at home then play them back live with
the other musicians..I call it...Karaoke for bands...we do however 'sound'
like a 15 piece group without all the logistic problems for that size.
Imagine hearing lush strings and a 4 piece horn section blaring magically.
We don't even have to worry about how we gonna divide the pay. Too
bad I still don't get as much as anybody in the band even though I DO all
the work...hhhmm...I got to have a word with my agent! lol
Yup! I like the Alesis gear cos it's darn cost effective. No one
in this business of music (other than being lucky) will generate financial
success.
We musicians do it for the 'creative' aspects and the love for MUSIC!
